The Headies is a music awards program created in 2006 by the Nigerian Hip Hop World Magazine to honor outstanding accomplishments in the country’s music sector. Established and up-and-coming performers perform during the yearly celebration.
Winners are chosen either by public vote in categories that are accessible to voting or by a thorough and critical analysis by the Headies Jury members.
The voting categories are those that allow members of the public to text or cast an online vote for the nominee they prefer. The Headies’ Jury members must do a technical and in-depth analysis on the categories that are non-voting.
