The jalamia or jalabiya are loose Egyptian traditional garment which is very colourful and stylish in appearance compared to the Arabic thawb which is mostly white in colour.
While jalamias are of East African Origin and traditional in style the Arab thawb which originates from the Middle East and is seen as a rather religious regalia which of course is popular amongst the moslem faithful all over the globe.
The jalamia or jalabiya as the case may be has evolved over time into even more trendy and colourful apparel with rather intriguing designs and patterns sorted out for by a vast variety of people no matter their ethnic backgrounds or religious beliefs. This all new and hard to resist garment are known as ‘Abaya’.
