Trainee Supervisor, 1st Focus Homecare
£23k-£25k plus earning potential up to £30k+ with on call payments and overtime.
As a Trainee Supervisor, you will work closely with our team of Care Assistants to help them deliver high-quality care. Reporting directly to the Care Manager you will be fully trained and supported to work towards the role of Supervisor. You will have a responsibility for ensuring care plans on site are kept up to date, auditing care notes and other records, co-ordinating PPE and paperwork available to staff, and identifying and delivering on-site mentoring, training, and coaching to staff. You will play a key role in overseeing and involvement in shadow shifts for new members of staff.
The Trainee Supervisor takes a critical role in ensuring care staff have the necessary skills, knowledge and attributes to meet the National Care Standards and deliver quality care – day in, day out.
You will need to have a minimum of one year experience in the care sector, and either hold or be willing to work towards the SVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care, within 6 months of starting. You will also need to have an ability to plan and manage your own workload and its essential that you can communicate well and form good relationships with staff, service users, families, and other professionals. You will be friendly and calm – and importantly be able to cope with pressure.
You will have a flexible approach to work while maintaining a good work/life balance but will be required to work planned shift work, including evenings, nights, and weekends.
You will need a full driver’s license and access to your own car. As you will form part of the on-call rota a flexible approach to the job is a must. You will also require 2 references and a satisfactory PVG Disclosure.
